Laundry Poster

Sometimes people simplify this painting to something...pretty basic. But one day when I was driving, my friend encouraged me to write about what it actually means to me which is so much deeper: it's a commentary on social structure. Especially in Vancouver, a very costly place to live. The laundromat, or communal laundry room: a metaphor of washing away your dirt/sins/etc but with everyone else...because we are all imperfect humans, just trying to make our way. It was also a beautiful moment that rarely goes appreciated: which is how the "Romanticizing The Everyday" collection was born. The boredom/patience/etc of such an everyday essential task, is also art. Everything is art. The human experience is art. We are all connected. And sometimes you end up with other people's weird socks, and that is just life.
