Kardashian Insouciant
Despite my general insouciant feelings towards this subject:
what I have to say about Kim Kardashian showing her front and back COMPLETELY nude on the internet:
1. I'm actually totally ok with the nudity.
Women shouldn't be ashamed of their bodies.
2. It's not society's job to tell you what kind of body surgery you should/shouldn't have.
But just so you know Kim, you probably looked great just the way you were born.
3.It could have been classier. Next time get Tim Walker to do your photos ala the Kate Moss "Love Magazine" photos. If you are going to get FULLY naked for the entire world and show them EVERYTHING, make it beautiful. Make it art.
Let's ask Obama if he liked the photos:

SaturGay Paper
Me: Which one is better? Chocolate or vanilla?
Her: Chocolate
Me: Sounds good
-I curl all 3 newspapers together and tuck them under my arm as she hands me a bowl of vegan ice cream in a small pink dish-
I sit at a wooden table and carefully lay all the papers face down. I strategically take the paper about "Gay Pride Week" and insert it into the regular paper.
Believe me, the irony of this, does not escape me.
This is exactly why when a middle aged man recently told me my blog was "too gay" my first reaction was embarrassment..... followed by a considerate amount of consideration..... followed by anger.
There are a million blogs about being hetero!
There aren't a million blogs about being a 27 year old femme lesbian fashion designer. And I suspect (due to it's recent soar in popularity) that for a lot of LGBT people this blog has become a home for them and perhaps a place of refuge- the same way hiding my gay newspaper inside another newspaper was my refuge once.

So, Mr.
If my blog is "too gay" for you. Don't read it.
In the words of Mary Lambert, "I can't change, even if I tried. Even if I wanted to."
(this applies to me never wearing 2 socks that match and also to being a lesbian)
(Oh, and now I read my Gay Pride Week newspapers freely aaanywhere I damn well please;) haha)
RAW For The Oceans: G-Star
Oh hey sexy people!
I want to tell you a story:
Once there was a woman in New York.
It was a hot summer. Damn hot. Real hot. So hot you could cook an egg on the sidewalk hot.
She took off her jacket but it wasn't enough. She needed relief. So she ran to a street vendor. She bought a bottle of water and drank the entire thing in 3 seconds flat and then threw it in the trash
screeeeeeech
She threw it where?!?!
hey
hey
It's ok
You know why? Because of Raw For The Oceans.
That's right. G-Star Raw and Pharrell Williams(ummm like you weren't already in love with him for releasing this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXk_zDyvfio) are making denim out of recycled plastic from the ocean.
Ya, denim. Out of plastic they pull from the sea.
It's intensely bad-ass.
I feel like the cool thing these days IS to care. Not caring about the environment is laaaaaaaame.
Humanitarianism/ environmentalism/ giving a damn: It's in. It's hot. Take note.
And this trend of caring isn't going away anytime soon cause let's be honest- we have fucked the Earth up pretty bad.
But it's ok. We are going to figure it out together.
AND we get to wear super stylish rad clothes designed by Pharrell Williams and Marc Newson (Design Director of Apple) while we do it!
I love this because they are taking something negative and making something positive out of it.
Pharrell, you are doing something powerful with your fame. Respect.

Here is a video about the cause:
"You can take low grade plastic debris and turn it into high performance yarn"
Also, I might have a teeny tiny crush on Raw For The Oceans brand ambassador/ artist/ film maker/ activist Brandee Brown.
I mean how cool is this chick?
Seriously.
Barbie Girl In A Fourth Wave Feminist World
Me: I saw an add in the window of Forever 21 for their Barbie Collection and I HAD to go in and check it out. I felt like the worst fourth wave feminist ever haha
My liberated lesbian friend: Haha, actually I read an article that said Barbie is an astronaut, a doctor...a police officer... she has lots of different careers! So she is an educated doll!
Last year I was Barbie in the box for Halloween....I guess you can take Barbie out of the closet.... but you can't take the Barbie out of the girl....or something like that....haha idk I'm blonde, mmmk?
